Providing specialist palliative care
St Benedict’s Hospice has provided specialist palliative care to the people of Sunderland and surrounding districts since 1984.
Care is provided by the NHS as part of South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust and is also supported by St. Benedict’s Hospice charity.
In recognition of the benefit and value of hospice care, our services have grown over the years.
We are now a centre of excellence providing a range of services across the whole community. These include day services, out-patients, care in the home, hospital or care home as well as in-patient beds.

St Benedict’s Hospice welcomes everyone who will benefit from the expertise and care of our multi professional team. We care for people with difficult or distressing symptoms whether they are physical, emotional or spiritual.
